Among others, the main techniques I use are:
BodyTalk, Jin Shin Jyutsu, Craniosacral Therapy and Reflexology
BodyTalk
BodyTalk uses biofeedback to communicate with the body and discover its healing needs and priorities. Using no manipulation, diagnosis or remedies, the body is brought gently back into its natural individual balance. Our bodies are composed of trillions of cells which make up a synchronized and highly complex system. For it to be healthy, all cells need to function as part of the whole. Every part of our body needs to be constantly communicating and interacting with every other part so we can respond and adapt. Unfortunately, with the many stresses of modern life, the communication systems in the body can become weakened – leading to illness and disease.
Jin Shin Jyutsu
Jin Shin Jyutsu employs twenty-six “safety energy looks” along energy pathways that feed life into our bodies. When one or more of the paths become blocked, the resulting stagnation can disrupt the local area and eventually disharmonize the complete path of the energy flow. Holding these energy locks in combination can bring balance to mind, body and soul. It is a gentle art that promotes optimal health and well-being and facilitates our own profound healing capacity. It induces relaxation, and greatly reduces the effects of stress. Stress has been widely recognized as causing everything from minor aches and pains to chronic health problems. The deep relaxation derived from Jin Shin Jyutsu brings balance to the body's energies, allowing the body to function better, feel better and heal more quickly.
Craniosacral Therapy
Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) is located inside the vertebral/spinal canal from the cranium to the sacrum. This liquid has its own rhythm and affects the brain, the whole nervous system and therefore all the psycho-physiology processes in the body. The fluctuation of the CSF is often inhibited and the natural rhythm disordered. The flow needed to be put back in order. A craniosacral therapy session therefore involves the therapist placing their hands on the patient, allowing them to "tune into the craniosacral rhythm". It is a dynamic fascial and muscle release modality, with single, gentle cross-fibre moves being applied to specific muscles, tendons and ligaments to improve flow of blood, lymph and energy. These moves are usually applied in precise Sequences. When required, these Sequences often create self-correcting structural changes to promote overall body balance.
Reflexology
The foot is a picture of a sitting person. It is based on a system of zones and reflex areas that reflect an image of the body on the feet. Through the feet it is possible to get to places of the body you cannot reach or are too painful to touch. It is a physical act of applying pressure to the feet with specific thumb, finger and hand techniques without the use of oil or lotion.
